The present invention provides a method of controlling an autonomous vehicle at a low speed by a model of interaction between the vehicle and at least one unprotected road user, wherein a trajectory related to a future occurring motion of the unprotected road user is calculated, and on this basis, the control instructions are planned and, before the control instructions modified in response thereto are transmitted to the actuators of the autonomous vehicle, the planned control instructions of the autonomous driving vehicle are guided in the information loop into the calculation of the trajectory relating to the future occurred movement of the unprotected road user. Furthermore, an autonomous vehicle for carrying out the method is provided.
