The invention discloses an automatic grounding device of an electrified railway 27.5 kV contact network and a control method thereof. The device comprises a voltage transformer TV, a grounding switchstate detection circuit, an electricity testing circuit, an automatic discharge circuit and a monitoring unit RTU. The two ends of the low-voltage side of the voltage transformer TV are connected withthe grounding switch state detection circuit, the electricity testing circuit and the automatic discharge circuit respectively, and the grounding switch state detection circuit, the electricity testing circuit and the automatic discharge circuit are all connected with the monitoring unit RTU. In order to solve the problems that in the prior art, the operation efficiency of a grounding wire of a contact net is low, and the safety hazard is large, the automatic grounding device of an electrified railway 27.5 kV contact network is provided, and the automatic grounding device can automatically test electricity and discharge, can assemble or disassemble a grounding wire, is capable of intelligently detecting the state of a grounding switch, and has the advantages of high safety, low labor strength, and high operation automation degree.
