The invention relates to the technical field of tree climbing devices, in particular to a self-adaptive adjustment tree climbing wheel and a control method thereof. The self-adaptive adjustment tree climbing wheel comprises a wheel frame, a wheel main body, springs, electric extensible rods, strain gauges, a battery box and a chip box; the wheel main body is arranged at the lower part of the wheelframe and is rotationally connected with the wheel frame; the battery box and the chip box are respectively arranged on two sides of the upper part of the wheel frame; the springs, the electric extensible rods and the strain gauges are arranged between the battery box and the chip box; the electric extensible rods are sleeved with the springs; the strain gauges are arranged at the top ends of theelectric extensible rods; and the lower parts of the extensible telescopic rods are connected with the wheel frame. By adjusting the electric extensible rod, the extensible spring is adjusted, forceF and friction force f exerted by the wheel to a tree are kept unchanged, and the balance of the tree climbing device is guaranteed, so an operator is safer in the tree climbing process.
