The invention relates to a climbing robot, in particular to an obstacle-avoiding soft climbing robot which comprises a soft holding gripper, a push-pull electromagnetic switch, a double-head motor, aworm and gear, a coupler, a friction clutch, a wire set shaft, a steering pull rod, a steering connecting rod, a front wheel, a rear wheel and the like. The push-pull electromagnetic switch, the telescopic shaft, the gear set, the steering pull rod, a spur rack and the like form a steering system, the soft holding gripper, the friction clutch, the wire set shaft and the like form a holding mechanism, and the double-head motor, the worm and gear, the rear wheel and the like form a driving system. The climbing robot is driven by a single motor; and compared with a traditional climbing robot, thenumber of motors is small, the structure is simple, and the climbing robot is suitable for climbing of various trees and rods.
