The invention relates to a scheduling method of an intelligent vehicle unit, the intelligent vehicle unit comprises an intelligent navigation vehicle unit and a passenger/cargo vehicle unit, and the scheduling method comprises the following steps: receiving a transportation task; selecting at least one intelligent navigation vehicle unit and at least one passenger/cargo vehicle unit according to the transportation task; and controlling the selected intelligent navigation vehicle unit and the passenger/cargo vehicle unit to be docked with each other. The system has the advantages of being moreflexible and low in cost compared with other previous automatic driving vehicle systems. Since a plurality of modules may be combined, significant fuel savings may be achieved. Since the modules can be self-assembled, an autonomous vehicle system can be created without additional structure or labor.
