The invention relates to a rolling motion restraining device for a ship, and relates to the field of single-point mooring engineering. The rolling motion restraining device comprises a restraining mechanism, a transmission mechanism and a driving mechanism, the restraining mechanism comprises two ballast assemblies which are arranged in a bilateral symmetry mode, each ballast assembly is of a hollow structure and is filled with a fluid working medium, and the adjacent ends of one set of the two ballast assemblies are used for being connected with a ship. The transmission mechanism is used forenabling the restraining mechanism and the rotary platform to be rotationally connected and receiving and transmitting torque generated when the restraining mechanism conducts rolling motion, one endof the driving mechanism is connected with the transmission mechanism, and the other end of the driving mechanism is communicated with the set of adjacent ends, away from the ship, of the two ballastassemblies. And the control mechanism is used for controlling the fluid working media in the two ballast assemblies to flow towards corresponding directions according to the torque transmitted by thetransmission mechanism. According to the rolling motion suppression device, the problems of large oscillation amplitude and long attenuation time of rolling motion of a ship in a single-point mooringstate are well solved.
