The invention relates to a web plate assembly of an escalator and the escalator. The web plate assembly is mounted on a truss frame of the escalator and comprises a first web plate region, a second web plate region and a third web plate region, wherein the first web plate region is mounted on the truss frame of the escalator from the first side of the first web plate region; the second web plate region is overlapped and interlocked with the second side of the first web plate region on the first side of the second web plate region; and the third web plate region is mounted on the truss frame ofthe escalator from the first side of the third web plate region, and is overlapped and interlocked with the second side of the second web plate region on the second side of the third web plate region.
