The transversely-moving rack trolley comprises an adjusting assembly used for adjusting the height of an object placing table, wherein the adjusting assembly comprises a base, a first hydraulic cylinder is mounted in the middle of the upper surfaceof the base, a lifting table is mounted on an output shaft of the first hydraulic cylinder, two sleeves are arranged on the upper surface of the base, the two sleeves are symmetrically distributed along the first hydraulic cylinder and are fixedly connected with the base, sliding rods are arranged in the sleeves in a sliding mode, and the top ends of the sliding rods penetrate through the top ofthe sleeves and are fixedly connected with the lifting table. By arranging the hydraulic cylinder, when steel needs to be lifted or lowered, the height of the lifting table can be adjusted only by controlling stretching and retracting of an output shaft of the hydraulic cylinder, so that a crane is not needed for lifting the steel any more. Compared with a traditional crane for lifting, the working process is simpler, more effective and higher in safety.
