The device comprises a main chain wheel, a chain, an encoder, a transmissionshaft, a bearing and a shell, the main chain wheel is sleeved on the transmission shaft, one end of the transmission shaft is connected with the encoder, the transmission shaft is supported in the shell through the bearing, the shell is fixed on the rail locomotive, and the chain is externally connected and fixed, arranged along the length direction of a locomotive guide rail and penetrates through the shell to form chain transmission with the main chain wheel; the chain cleaning device further comprises a lubricating and cleaning assembly, the lubricating and cleaning assembly comprises a cleaning part, a supporting part and an oil supply part, the cleaning part is made of flexible materials and just makes contact with the chain, and the supporting part is fixedly connected with the shell. The actual walking distance of the rail locomotive is converted into the walking distance of the position detection device on the chain through chain transmission, the influence of the phenomena ofwheel slipping, idling and the like on rail locomotive position detection is eliminated, and the contained lubricating and cleaning assembly has the lubricating, cleaning and chain disengagement preventing effects on chain transmission.
