The characteristics of a magnetorheological fluid valve are used and applied to a valve to generate a high back pressure so as to perform braking. The braking torque is large, the response is fast, and the safety of a braking system is greatly improved. When braking is not required, the retarder does not work, and all excitation coils are not energized. When braking is required and the retarder receives a retarding brake signal, an excitation coil module is energized, the electric current is from small to large, an oil port is gradually closed, and the internal back pressure of the retarder gradually increases, and then the braking force is gradually increased, so that the retarding effect is achieved.
