The invention discloses an automatic battery charging system. The system comprises a controller and a conveying mechanism, wherein the conveying mechanism comprises an installation frame, an annular conveying belt is arranged on the installation frame, a traction mechanism is installed on an inner side of the annular conveying belt and comprises a plurality of parallel horizontal air cylinders, traction claws are arranged on output shafts of the horizontal air cylinders, butt joint devices are arranged at the positions, opposite to the horizontal air cylinders, of an outer side of the installation frame, a charging mechanism is installed on the other side, opposite to the butt joint devices, of the installation frame and comprises a charging pile opposite to the horizontal air cylinders, detection mechanisms are arranged at the positions, close to the charging pile and the butt joint device, of the installation frame, each detection mechanism comprises a limiting switch, and the ball screw motor, and the detection mechanisms, the charging mechanism and the traction mechanism are electrically connected with the controller. The system is advantaged in that a problem that in the priorart, a vehicle battery needs to be carried manually to be charged can be solved, charging efficiency is high, labor cost is saved, and an application range is wide.
