The invention belongs to a braking device or a catch pawl device acting between a lift car or a cage or a skip and a fixed guiding element or a winding channel or the inner surface of a liftway and particularly discloses an elevator falling protective device. The elevator falling protective device comprises a rack-shaped baffle fixed to the two side walls of a shaftway and a braking unit arranged in the lower layer of the lift car. The braking unit comprises a base, electromagnets and a first elastic piece. The base is fixed to the interior of the lift car. A dovetail groove is formed in the base. The electromagnets can slide in the dovetail groove. The number of the electromagnets is two. One end of the first elastic piece is connected to one electromagnetic magnet, and the other end of the first elastic piece is connected to the other electromagnetic magnet. Compared with a traditional anti-falling protective device, when power failure happens and the anti-falling device loses efficacy, a good protective effect can still be achieved, and the safety performance of an elevator is improved.
