The invention discloses a traffic accident message transmission method based on a vehicle-mounted network, and the method comprises the following steps: searching first driving information of a first target vehicle nearby an accident vehicle after a traffic accident happens, wherein the first driving information comprises the driving speed of the first target vehicle, the driving direction of the first target vehicle, and a distance from the first target vehicle to the accident vehicle; judging and determining whether the first target vehicle is an original relay vehicle or not according to the communication distance of the accident vehicle, accident message transmission time of the accident vehicle and the first driving information; enabling the accident vehicle to transmit the accident information to the original relay vehicle if the first target vehicle is the original relay vehicle; and enabling the original relay vehicle to transmit the accident information. The method is advantageous in that the method enables the safety information to be quickly transmitted in an urban traffic network which is large in data request amount and is busy in traffic, reminds a vehicle, which is about to arrive an accident scene, of the front road conditions in advance, enables the vehicle to make timely response, and prevents the traffic condition from becoming worse.
