The invention provides a steelmaking plant large molten iron slag lightering method. The method mainly comprises the following steps: driving a travelling crane to the tank flanging position of a molten iron slag tank, hoisting large molten iron slag by a suspender clamp specially used for hoisting objects with irregular shapes, lightering the large molten iron slag to a crushing room, and crushing. The method also comprises the steps of molten iron slag immersion and lightering alarm in the enforcement process. The large molten iron slag can be smoothly lightered by using the suspender clamp specially used for hoisting objects with irregular shapes under the assistance of traveling crane hoisting without other power supplies, so the method is simple and convenient to use; and the artificial confirmation step of the large molten iron slag is reduced in the lightering process, so the working efficiency is improved, no flying dusts exist in the working process, and the method is very environmentally-friendly.
