The present disclosure relates to a passenger flow volume determining method and a passenger flow volume determining device. The passenger flow volume determining method comprises the steps of: acquiring geographical location information and corresponding time information of a user, wherein the geographical location information includes current geographical location information and historical geographical location information, and the time information includes current time information and historical time information; acquiring operational information of target public transport means; and determining a passenger flow volume of the target public transport means according to the geographical location information, the time information and the operational information of the target public transport means. Through the technical scheme, the user can learn about passenger flow volume condition of the target public transport means, and further adjust his travel time and travel transport means according to the passenger flow volume condition of the target public transport means, thereby enhancing user experience.
