The invention discloses a travel-reduced bidirectional speed limiting system capable of preventing car sliding automatically. An encoder is mounted on a spindle of a speed limiting device of the speed limiting system. A rope wheel is assembled on the spindle, a pawl is rotatably assembled on one side of the wheel surface of the rope wheel, and a pawl torsional spring enabling the pawl to turn to a ratchet wheel to be clamped in a clamping groove of the ratchet wheel is arranged between the pawl and the rope wheel; a pawl positioning structure is further rotatably assembled on the wheel surface of the rope wheel, a disk is coaxially and fixedly arranged on the wheel surface, away from a gravity hammer, of the ratchet wheel, self-reset switches are distributed on the outer edge of the disk and located on the circumference of a circle concentric with the disk, and levers of the self-reset switches stretch to the inner side; the free ends of the levers are located on the circumferences of a set of concentric circles of the disk, and the gravity hammer touches the self-reset switches in sequence in the opening process. According to the travel-reduced bidirectional speed limiting system capable of preventing car sliding automatically, top space and bottom space of an elevator in a corresponding building do not need to be expanded extra, and meanwhile the purpose of adopting an elevator with a higher speed can be achieved under the condition that the cost of a buffer does not need to be increased.
