The invention discloses a retreating mechanism of an amphibious vehicle wheel retreating device. A second lug at the lower part of a vehicle frame assembly is hinged with the inner end of a lower transverse arm. The outer end of the lower transverse arm is hinged with a middle sphere of a horn handle. Furthermore the bottom of the horn handle is used for mounting a wheel assembly. The rotating shaft end of an upper ball-head bearing is fixed with the top of the horn handle. The front side and the back side of the housing of the upper ball-head bearing are coaxially provided with a semi-shaft. Each semi-shaft is arranged in a sleeve-shaped part at outer end of the upper transverse arm through a lining. The semi-shaft is locked by a corresponding locking screw. The inner end of the upper transverse arm is hinged with a third supporting lug at the upper part of the vehicle frame assembly. Furthermore the vehicle frame assembly, the lower transverse arm, the horn handle and the upper transverse arm form a four-connecting-rod mechanism. When folding of the wheel assembly for retreating is required, the lower transverse arm is made to perform upward rotation around a third pin, and the lower transverse arm drives the upper transverse arm to perform upward rotation through the horn handle, and furthermore folding of the wheel assembly for retreating is realized. The retreating mechanism of the amphibious vehicle wheel retreating device has a large enough folding angle and furthermore has advantages of compact structure and small size.
