The invention discloses a hand strap driving force detection device for an escalator, and belongs to the technical field of escalator structural members. The escalator comprises hand straps, wherein a hand strap T-shaped slot is formed in the inner side of each hand strap; the hand strap driving force detection device comprises a hand strap upper clamping seat of which the cross section is n-shaped, a hand strap lower clamping seat of which the cross section is n-shaped, a hand strap lower pressing plate and a driving force measurer; a pull hook seat is fixed on the top surface of the hand strap upper clamping seat; hand strap lower clamping seat connection holes are formed in the two sides in the length direction; a hand strap lower pressing plate fastening screw is arranged on the hand strap lower clamping seat; the hand strap lower pressing plate is arranged in the T-shaped slot of each hand strap and is supported on the hand strap lower pressing plate fastening screw; each hand strap is clamped or released by clockwise or anticlockwise operation on the hand strap lower pressing plate fastening screw; one end of the driving force measurer is connected with a pull handle, and the other end of the driving force measurer is connected with a pull hook; the pull hook is arranged on a pull hook seat. According to the hand strap driving force detection device, relative sliding to each hand strap in a detection process can be avoided; the safety of a detector is guaranteed, and an accurate driving force value can be obtained; the hand strap driving force detection device is simple in structure and convenient to manufacture and use.
