The invention provides an alternating current auxiliary system for an internal combustion locomotive. The alternating current auxiliary system comprises a locomotive main system power generator, a transformer, an inverter and an auxiliary system electrical appliance, wherein a voltage output end of the locomotive main system power generator is connected with a primary terminal of the transformer; and a secondary terminal of the transformer is connected with the auxiliary system electrical appliance through the inverter. According to the alternating current auxiliary system for the internal combustion locomotive, provided by the invention, the purchasing cost of an auxiliary power generator is reduced, the total weight of the locomotive is reduced, and the electric quantity of a main power generator can be reasonably distributed.
