The invention provides a hybrid electric vehicle system capable of improving vehicle traffic safety. The hybrid electric vehicle system comprises a server and a plurality of hybrid electric vehicles. Each hybrid electric vehicle comprises a vehicle body, an engine, a transmission, a motor and a power battery, wherein the engine, the transmission, the motor and the power battery are arranged in the vehicle body. The power batteries are connected with the motors and used for supplying electricity to the motors. The motors and the engines are connected with the transmissions, and the transmissions are used for driving the vehicle bodies to advance. Controllers are arranged in the vehicle bodies and connected with GPS positioning modules, acceleration sensors, prompting modules and communication modules. The controllers are used for sending GPS positioning module data to the server through the communication modules and turning on double-flash indication lights after collected values of the acceleration sensors are larger than a preset value. Mutual alarming of the hybrid electric vehicles can be achieved, and safety is increased.
