The objective of the present invention is to make it possible to visually observe that a tread is at the end stage of wear before a protecting layer is exposed. This aircraft pneumatic tire (10) has: a carcass ply (12) that straddles between a pair of bead sections; a belt layer (14) provided to the outside in the radial direction of the tire with respect to the crown section (12A) of the carcass ply (12); a protecting layer (16) provided to the outside in the radial direction of the tire with respect to the belt layer (14); a tread (18) that is provided to the outside in the radial direction of the tire with respect to the protecting layer (16) and at which ribs (30, 32, 24) are formed/demarcated by means of peripheral-direction grooves; and thread-shaped bodies (20) that are provided within the tread (18) or between the tread (18) and the protecting layer (16), extend in the axial direction of the tire, and are disposed with spaces therebetween in the peripheral direction of the tire.
