The invention discloses a lifting tool for an engine cylinder block. The cylinder block comprises a partition plate, two cavities divided by the partition plate, and a through hole formed in the partition plate and communicated with the two cavities. The lifting tool comprises a body and further comprises a lifting hook, a positioning piece and a lifting handle. The lifting hook is arranged at one end of the body and hooked on the hole wall of the through hole. The positioning piece is arranged in the middle of the body and provided with at least two oppositely-arranged abutting portions, and the abutting portions abut against the inner wall of one cavity. The lifting handle is arranged at the other end of the body. According to the lifting tool, the body is embedded into the other cavity through the positioning piece, and in other words, the relative positions of the body and the cylinder block are fixed through the positioning piece. Due to the fact that the lifting hook is hung in the through hole of the partition plate and the body and the cylinder block cannot move relatively, the disengaging probability of the lifting tool is low, and the safety coefficient of the lifting tool is high.
