The invention, which belongs to the field of the road traffic signal system, relates to a road traffic signal aiding method and particularly to a signal reference substance guiding method of a road section not being an intersection. The method is characterized in that signal reference substances that are parallel to a road section at the same direction and are arranged continuously are arranged at the road section having a traffic signal lamp at an intersection; all signal reference substances display same signals successively according to a forward driving direction of the road section and carry out signal changing successively, so that the adjacent signal reference substances displaying the same signals are arranged to form a common signal belt with a certain length. The signal reference substances are changed successively to display another signals and each signal reference substance display the signal with the same time value for long time. And gradual signal belt forward movement is carried out based on successive changing of the reference substance signals, thereby providing signal guidance for the vehicle driven at the road section. According to the invention, real-time effective traffic guidance can be provided, so that the traffic efficiency can be improved.
