An automotive mechanical gearbox comprises an input shaft, a spline on the input shaft is connected with an input gear, the input gear is meshed with a first transmission gear, and the first transmission gear, a second transmission gear, a third transmission gear and a fourth transmission gear are fixedly connected to a first shaft sleeve; one end of an output shaft is connected with an output gear through a spline, a sixth transmission gear is meshed with the output gear and connected to a main shaft through a spline, a forward III-gear gear, a forward II-gear gear, a reverse II-gear gear, a forward I-gear gear and a reverse I-gear gear are sequentially hinged to the main shaft through bearings, and the forward III-gear gear, the forward II-gear gear, the reverse II-gear gear, the forward I-gear gear and the reverse I-gear gear are meshed with the fourth transmission gear, the third transmission gear, an idle gear, the second transmission gear and the first transmission gear respectively. Existing four gears are changed into five gears, one high-speed gear is additionally arranged, the traveling speed of a forklift in the on-load process is increased, and requirements of users are met.
