The invention discloses a method for enabling a train to safely passa route combining long steep gradients and small curves. The small curves are arranged at the tail ends of the long steep gradients. The method comprises the following steps: limiting the speed of the train when the train enters the long steep gradients; and applying braking force to a driving vehicle and all driven vehicles, wherein the braking force applied to the driving vehicle is equal to the downward gradient sliding force of the driving vehicle on the long steep gradients, and the braking force applied to the driven vehicles corresponds to the downward gradient sliding force of the driving vehicle on the long steep gradients. An electric braking manner is adopted to apply the braking force on the driving vehicle, an air braking manner is adopted to apply the braking force on the driven vehicles, through the adoption of the method, the method is simple to operate, only appropriate speed limiting is needed for the train, through corresponding brake control, and even under bad conditions such as rain, snow and frost, the train does not slide and can safely pass an outdoor route combining the long steep gradients and the small curves.
