The invention provides an electric power steering locking device, which can detect the position of a locking mechanism even with a simple structure. The electric steering lock device (1) comprises: a first linear Hall IC (72) for detecting the magnetic field strength; a magnet (33) is arranged in a locking bolt which can be engaged and is disengaged with respect to a steering axis, or disposed on the linkage member to said latch, and the latch moves together; and a CPU (91) as a determination means, which determines a lock bolt (31) according to the position of the first linear Hall IC (72) values detected. The CPU (91) comprising: a first detecting range (V1), when the first detection value range (V1) value is detected, it is determined that the lock bolt (31) in an unlocked position; and a second detecting range (V2), when the second detection value range (V2) value is detected, it is determined that the lock bolt (31) in a locked position.
