The invention relates to a flap for closing off a ventilation duct, notably in a motor vehicle, extending longitudinally along an axis of rotation and comprising an upstream part (3a) and a downstream part (3b) which are connected by a rib (5) at which said rotation axis is situated, said upstream (3a) and downstream (3b) parts having ends situated one on either side of a plane P passing through said axis of rotation so as to allow one of the ends of said flap to be overlapped by the other end of an adjacent flap. According to the invention, the upstream part and/or the downstream part have passing through them a longitudinal cavity (9) extending along said axis of rotation, said upstream and/or downstream part or parts equipped with said cavity (9) being situated in the projecting front surface of the rib (5) and of the end of the other part.
