A bearing hinge point for a counterweight type crane and a maintenance method thereof are disclosed. The bearing hinge point contains two bearings which are axially fixed inside mounting holes of bearing pedestals through bearing end caps. The bearing hinge point also contains a fixed support which is fixed on a pedestal. A left bearing support and a right bearing support are detachably fixed on the fixed support. The bearing hinge point is also provided with a connecting piece for connecting the left bearing support and the right bearing support. When bearings need to be replaced or maintained, the pedestal and an equalizer bar are firstly fixed; then, the bearing support and the bearing end cap at one side of a damaged bearing are dismantled so as to replace the bearing at the side; and finally, the dismantled bearing support, the replaced bearing and the bearing end cap are reinstalled in place, and a supporting bar is dismantled. According to the above bearing hinge point, the maintenance process is relatively simple, and potential safety hazards are small.
