A rail holding lock comprises a fixing portion and locking portions fixedly connected with the fixing portion. Two edge portions of the locking portions are provided with extending portions extending downwards respectively. The lower end of each extending portion is provided with a bending portion bent towards the inner side, and the distance between the two bending portions is larger than the width of a rail web of a rail and smaller than the width of a rail head of the rail. Compared with the prior art, the rail holding lock has the beneficial effects that the rail holding lock is provided with the bending portions, wheels of a rail locomotive are prevented from derailing through cooperation of the bending portions and the rail head of the rail, and the locomotive is made to run more safely. The left locking portion and the right locking portion are arranged on the two sides of the rail, the rail holding lock does not need to be mounted from the broken head of the rail, and operation is easier if the rail holding lock is directly mounted from the side faces of the rail.
