A checking mechanical arm for a brake lamp comprises a rearview mirror of a first motor vehicle, a front lamp of a second motor vehicle and a controller, wherein the rearview mirror comprises a mirror shell, a detecting mirror piece and a detecting mechanical arm, and the detecting mechanism arm is mounted in the mirror shell; the checking mirror piece is connected with the detecting mechanical arm, and the mirror shell is provided with a detecting guide opening; the mirror face of the detecting mirror piece faces the rear face of the first motor vehicle; the controller is provided with a start switch, a stop switch, a first sensor and a second sensor, and the first sensor and the second sensor are arranged on a shell of a power element; in the using process, the controller is used for controlling the detecting mechanical arm to drive the detecting mirror piece to stretch out, and therefore the front lamp of the motor vehicle behind the detecting mirror piece can be observed through the detecting mirror piece; the checking mirror piece is combined with a reflecting mirror of the front lamp of the motor vehicle behind the checking mirror piece, so that whether the brake lamp is lighted or not is detected; and a driver can check whether the brake lamp fails or not without getting off the vehicle, and the aim that the driver checks the brake lamp in the driving process is achieved
