The invention discloses an air conditioning system for an electric vehicle and the electric vehicle having the same. The air conditioning system comprises an evaporator, a condenser, and a compressor connected between the evaporator and the condenser. The compressor comprises a drive motor and a compression mechanism. The drive motor is electrically connected with a power supply system of the electric vehicle. The compression mechanism comprises a cylinder, a crankshaft and a piston, and in the process that the drive motor drives the crankshaft to rotate, the piston is driven by the crankshaft to roll along the inner wall of a compression chamber in the cylinder to compress the refrigerant in the compression chamber. According to the air conditioning system for the electric vehicle, the power supply system in the electric vehicle is ingeniously used, so that the compression mechanism can be driven by the drive motor, the structure of the compressor is simpler, the implementation is easier, the reliability is higher, the manufacturing difficulty of the compressor is lower, the production cost is lower, the working efficiency is higher, and thus the air conditioning system is more efficient, economical and higher in reliability.
