This tire for heavy loads contains a carcass ply (6A) having improved durability performance and rolling resistance performance in a well-balanced manner. A side wall rubber (3G) includes an inside rubber section (15) at the carcass (6) side and an outside rubber section (16) disposed at the outside thereof and forming tire outside surface. The inside rubber section (15) has a smaller loss tangent (tan[delta]1) than that of the outer rubber section (16), and the difference between same is 0.010-0.035. The inside rubber section (15) has a complex elastic modulus smaller than that of the outside rubber section (16), and the difference between same is 0.5-1.4 MPa. Of the inside rubber section (15), the outer end (15s) in the radial direction of the tire contacts the outside surface (2h) of a tread rubber (2G) in the axial direction of the tire, and the inner end (15u) in the radial direction of the tire is positioned to the inside in the radial direction of the tire with respect to the outer end (6e) in the radial direction of the tire of a folded-back section (6b) of the carcass ply (6A).
