A single-intersection traffic signal optimization control method is characterized in that a traffic signal control system is established which includes a main control board, a vehicle flow detection and processing module, and an output drive and green conflict detection module; the vehicle flow detection and processing module collects in real time vehicle flow and queuing length information of all directions of an intersection and transmits to the main control board; the main control board calculates an appropriate timing plan in real time according to the vehicle flow and queuing length information of all directions of the intersection, and sends to the output drive and green conflict detection module; and the output drive and green conflict detection module controls light color changes of signal lamps according to the timing plan.
