The invention discloses an intermittent fault detection method and system of an ATO (automatic train operation) controlled high-speed train brake system. The method includes the steps of establishing a linear approximation model of the high-speed train brake system under the influence of intermittent faults; based on the linear approximation model, establishing a scalar residual generator for intermittent faults of an actuator of the high-speed train brake system; based on the scalar residual generator, generating a detection signal, and performing hypothesis testing via the detection signal so as to detect the intermittent faults of the high-speed train brake system. The intermittent fault detection method and system has the advantages that the intermittent faults of high-speed trains can be accurately and quickly detected under the unknown disturbances and measurement noises, detection performance is quantified, and detectability of the intermittent faults is analyzed.
