To provide a train position detection system capable of detecting a train position accurately without increasing the number of installed ground elements even in a section with no gradient change.SOLUTION: A train position detection system includes a vehicle absolute position output part 107, a provisional position detection part 108 for detecting a provisional position of the vehicle from the absolute position and a speed, and a vehicle acceleration detection part 109 for detecting a vehicle acceleration. A line shape estimation part 110 estimates a line shape of a line on which the vehicle is travelling based on an actual braking/driving value 159, the vehicle acceleration 158, and vehicle characteristics 153 including at least the weight. A line shape accumulation part 112 holds line shape data in which the position in the line where the vehicle travels is associated with the line shape. A line shape collation part 111 collates the line shape estimated by the line shape estimation part with the line shape data in the vicinity of the provisional position held by the line shape accumulation part, and calculates a position correction amount of the vehicle.
