The invention relates to a viaduct entrance ramp traffic state identifying method based on a lifting height limiting rack. The method comprises obtaining the equipment data of the lifting height limiting rack, wherein the data contain entrance ramp traffic flow data; according to the entrance ramp traffic flow data, computing the unidirectional total traffic flow of multiple lanes within a collecting cycle, taking the unidirectional total traffic flow of the multiple lanes corresponding to all the collecting cycles within a month as a sample set, and recording the sample set as A; preprocessing the sample set to eliminate abnormal values in the sample set; computing the critical value xe of the sample set, and according to the critical value xe, computing the traffic state coefficient k of an entrance ramp; according to the traffic state coefficient k of the entrance ramp, determining the traffic state of the viaduct entrance ramp. The viaduct entrance ramp traffic state identifying method based on the lifting height limiting rack makes full use the advantages of high integration level and reliability of the existing lifting height limiting rack, performs data mining on the lifting height limiting rack and extracts the traffic state of the entrance ramp, thereby providing good support for control signal optimization of the entrance ramp and strategy management of an entire viaduct.
