The invention relates to an automatic viaduct congestion space hotspot extracting method based on lifting type height limiting frames. The automatic viaduct congestion space hotspot extracting method includes the steps of acquiring equipment data of the lifting type height limiting frames; computing multi-lane unidirectional average speed and multi-lane unidirectional total flow of each entrance ramp within an acquisition cycle according to speed data and flow data of the entrance ramp, and taking the multi-lane unidirectional average speed, the multi-lane unidirectional total flow and the corresponding entrance ramp as a sample set; subjecting the sample set to preprocessing, and removing abnormal values in the sample set; performing space hotspot evaluation by means of taking the multi-lane unidirectional average speed and the multi-lane unidirectional total flow as parameters; fusing two hotspot evaluation results, and extracting viaduct congestion space hotspots automatically. The automatic viaduct congestion space hotspot extracting method based on the lifting type height limiting frames has the advantages that speed information and flow information of the entrance ramps of the lifting type height limiting frames are fully made use of, mutual complementarity between two traffic parameters, namely between speed and flow, can be achieved by means of comprehensive space hotspot evaluation, and accuracy of viaduct congestion space hotspot evaluation is improved.
