The invention discloses a tensioning device of an over-speed governor for an elevator. The tensioning device comprises a tensioning wheel and a pair of connecting plates, the connecting plates are horizontally arranged in the radial direction of the tensioning wheel and fixed at the two ends of a rotating shaft of the tensioning wheel respectively, sliding parts are installed on the lower portions of the connecting plates, a protection plate is fixedly connected with the upper portion of one connecting plate, the protection plate is provided with balancing weights, and the upper portion of the other connecting plate is provided with a reset switch knock out bar which extends downwards; the lower portion of the tensioning wheel is provided with a pair of bending plate frames which are oppositely arranged, the bending plate frames are located on the two sides of the tensioning wheel respectively and fixed at the bottom of a hoistway, the tensioning wheel is clamped between the bending plate frames, the inner side face of each bending plate frame is provided with a guide rail which can only make the corresponding sliding part slide up and down in a matched mode, and the outer side face of one bending plate frame is provided with a reset switch which sends a signal of disconnecting an elevator safety circuit by being triggered by the reset switch knock out bar. According to the tensioning device of the over-speed governor, the structure is simple, the operation is reliable, and the space occupied in the hoistway is smaller.
