The invention belongs to the technical field of automatic control and particularly provides an automatic parking space detection device based on a parking lot. The automatic parking space detection device comprises an ultrasonic ranging sensor (1), a steering engine (2), a wireless transceiving module a (3), a wireless transceiving module b (4), a controller (5) and a displayer (6). The ultrasonic ranging sensor (1), the wireless transceiving module a (3), the wireless transceiving module b (4), the controller (5) and the displayer (6) are all low-power-consumption devices. According to the automatic parking space detection device, the steering engine and the ultrasonic ranging sensor are used for accurately measuring different parking spaces, and meanwhile the number of idle parking spaces in the parking lot is transmitted to an entrance through the wireless transceiving modules and displayed so that car owners can be guided to park cars conveniently. The automatic parking space detection device has the advantages of being accurate in measuring and displaying, simple, practical and efficient, and greatly improves the management efficiency and level of the parking lot.
