The invention relates to a system and method for monitoring fatigue driving time indexes. The system comprises a vehicle-mounted terminal arranged in a vehicle and a monitoring center carrying out communication with the vehicle-mounted terminal, wherein the vehicle-mounted terminal comprises a satellite positioning data acquisition module, a driver data acquisition module, a communication module and a warning module; the monitoring center comprises a data preprocessing module, a database, a time index calculating module, an early warning judgment module, an alarm judgment module and an alarm response module; the database is used for saving preprocessed data; the time index calculating module is used for calculating the current continuous driving duration of a driver and the accumulative driving duration of the driver on the day; the early warning judgment module is used for carrying out early warning judgment and carrying out communication with the warning module of the vehicle-mounted terminal; the alarm judgment module is used for carrying out alarm judgment; the alarm response module is used for displaying alarm information and sending alarm sound. The driving time index of each driver can be accurately monitored in real time through utilizing vehicle satellite positioning data comprising driver identity data. The alarm accuracy is high, and complicated actual running conditions can be met.
