The invention provides a microwave radar-based forward collision-preventing early warning method, which includes the following steps: (S1) the distance D between a vehicle and a vehicle ahead is measured by a microwave radar; (S2) the speed and acceleration of the vehicle are read from a CAN (Controller Area Network) line; (S3) safe distance is calculated according to a safe distance formula, and the safe distance formula is that Dw equals to V2/2 (a-f) + V* (T+S); D b r equals to V2/2(a-f)+V*T s; Dw is warning distance; Dbr is automatic braking distance; V is vehicle speed; a is vehicle acceleration; f is corrected acceleration value; T is braking time; Ts is response time of automatic braking; s is corrected braking time value; as the further improvement of the microwave radar-based forward collision-preventing early warning method, judgment is made according to the safe distance formula calculated in step S3 and corresponding action is performed in S4. The microwave radar-based forward collision-preventing early warning method has the following advantages that a vehicle owner is warned or action is implemented on the vehicle according to different early warning levels, consequently, the effect of collision prevention is achieved, rear-ending accidents are effectively reduced, and traffic accidents are reduced.
