The invention relates to a cooling system of a hybrid electric vehicle and a control method of the cooling system. The cooling system in the control method comprises a power electric box/ electric-driven gearbox cooling subsystem equipped with a first water pump; cooling liquid flows through the first water pump and passes through the power electric box and the electric-driven gearbox; when 1) the temperature TPEB of the power electric box exceeds the first temperature threshold T1, or 2) the temperature TEDU of the electric-driven gearbox exceeds the second temperature threshold T2, or 3) the temperature TPEBCoolant of the cooling liquid at an inlet of the power electric box exceeds the third temperature threshold T3, the first water pump is started.
