The invention provides a high-efficiency pulse water hammer type ship propeller. One or more huge cylinders are used as water hammer containers, are mounted at parts below a ship body waterline, and can be driven to reciprocate; hinges are mounted in the cylinders, and can be automatically closed or opened along with a pressure difference of two sides; and the hinges are controlled to switch forward or backward propelling of water hammers to obtain the pulse type retreating or advancing power. In particular, the high-efficiency pulse water hammer type ship propeller is easy to obtain high starting acceleration and efficiency, is suitable for large civil and military surface ships or submarines needing long-distance continuous voyage, is easy to generate powerful advancing impact force, and is suitable for icebreakers and impact type military ships; and when the water hammer containers are closed, the total mass of ship bodies is increased, so that the storm resistance and the stability are largely improved.
