The invention provides a fuel saving type four-wheel drive of an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle). The fuel saving type four-wheel drive of the SUV is a general four-wheel drive system of an automobile. The current four-wheel drive vehicles are basically divided into three types, namely, a time-division four-wheel drive vehicle, a full-time four-wheel drive vehicle and proper-time four-wheel drive vehicle which all have the advantages and disadvantages. The fuel saving type four-wheel drive of the SUV remains the advantages of the vehicles and overcomes the disadvantages according to the advantages and disadvantages of the three four-wheel drive vehicles. The fuel saving type four-wheel drive of the SUV comprises a differential mechanism on a central axis, and a rear axle pressing cladding semi-axle clutch which can be electrically controlled, so that a driver can save both time and force during operating and controlling; a rear transmission shaft and rear pressing cladding parts are not operated under front-drive running, and therefore, the fuel can be saved; the differential mechanism on the central axis, and the rear axle pressing cladding semi-axle clutch can be locked, so that the off-road performance is improved; the system is the same as the general four-wheel drive vehicle while the SUV runs at a four-wheel drive state, and the fuel is not saved.
