The invention discloses an automotive engine hood made of a novel material and belongs to the field of automotive engine components. The novel material is a foamed aluminum alloy material obtained by mixing oxidized aluminum alloy powder with one substance separated out during heating vaporization. The material is good in sound insulation performance and heat insulation performance, free of poison and combustion, low in density, good in thermal insulation and vibration absorption performance and excellent in heat conducting property. When the material is used for manufacturing the automotive engine hood, influences caused by vibration of an engine can be reduced, noise can be lowered, no harm can be caused to people due to the fact that the material is free of poison, and the material has broad development prospects in the current trend of light weight, energy saving, consumption reduction and emission pollution reduction of automotive materials.
