The invention relates to an installing structure and installing method of a propelling device. The propelling device comprises a propeller, a vertical well, a sliding block and a sliding block cushion plate. The vertical well is welded to a deck of a ship, the propeller is installed in the vertical well from top to bottom, the propeller and the vertical well are connected in a sealed mode on the upper surface of a panel of the vertical shaft, a sliding way is arranged on the propeller, the sliding block cushion plate is welded to the vertical well, and the sliding block is welded to the sliding block cushion plate and is connected with the sliding way in a sliding mode. The installing method can guarantee stability and water tightness of equipment installation, the installing technology is simple, and installing and maintenance operation can be conveniently performed by operators.
