The invention provides an urban traffic management system mode, and aims to improve the intersection passing capacity according to the actual situation of roads and vehicle flow in a city. One or multiple urban main trunk roads are selected, green lamps at an intersection of the one or multiple urban main trunk roads are orderly transformed to a certain direction, so that vehicles can continuously run in a region or on a road section; furthermore, on the basis of continuous running, the running speed of each vehicle is increased; the transformation of red and green lamps at other intersections is carried out on the premise of guaranteeing unblocking on the main trunk roads; therefore, the whole city runs under the uniform command of a traffic management system; the whole urban road does not need to be subjected to key transformation, so that high-speed and continuous running of the traffic vehicles to a certain direction can be realized, and the passing rate of the vehicles can be increased; therefore, under the condition of smaller investment, the aim of improving the traffic jam is fulfilled.
