The invention relates to a method for controlling the refrigerant pressure in an ambient heat exchanger of a refrigerant circuit, particularly a heat pump circuit, for vehicles, wherein the current temperature of the ambient air is measured by means of a temperature sensor and the current humidity of the ambient air is measured by means of a humidity sensor, the current dewpoint temperature of the ambient air is determined or estimated from the temperature of the ambient air and the humidity of the ambient air, and at a temperature of the ambient air less than 0 DEG C, the refrigerant pressure in the refrigerant circuit is regulated in such a manner that the temperature of the ambient heat exchanger is greater than the dewpoint temperature, by adjusting o the rotational speed of a refrigerant compressor in the refrigerant circuit and/or o the flow cross-section of a controllable expansion member in the refrigerant circuit and/or o the ambient air volume flow flowing around or through the ambient temperature heat exchanger.
