The invention relates to an elevator guide rail capable of being braked. The elevator guide rail comprises a rail base and a rail body, wherein the rail body is perpendicular to the rail base, and the rail body and the rail base are connected to form a structure of which the section is shaped like a Chinese character 'tu'; a plurality of mounting holes and assembling holes are respectively formed in the rail base in the length direction of the rail body, and the mounting holes and the assembling holes are alternately distributed; safe braking mechanisms are arranged in the assembling holes, and the safe braking mechanisms comprise the assembling holes, braking bars, compression springs and electromagnets fixedly arranged in a wall body, wherein the braking bars and the compression springs are arranged in the assembling holes in a penetrating manner, one ends of the braking bars are planes, and the other ends of the braking bars are spherical surfaces; one ends of the compression springs are connected with the electromagnets, and the other ends of the compression springs are connected with the plane ends of the braking bars. The braking bars are adsorbed to be contracted into the assembling holes when the electromagnets are electrified, and the normal operation of an elevator cannot be affected; when the elevator is stalled, the safe braking mechanisms are powered off, and the braking bars can automatically extend to block the falling of a cage under the action of the compression springs. Through the use of the elevator guide rail, the operation safety of the elevator is effectively improved.
