The invention discloses an amplitude-variable control system of a main arm of a crane and the crane, for improving the operation stability and the security of the crane. The amplitude-variable control system of the main arm of the crane comprises a reversing valve, amplitude-variable cylinders, rod cavity balance valves, a check valve and an oil replenishing device, wherein the reversing valve has a first working position and a second working position for respectively controlling the amplitude-variable cylinders to fall back and rise up, and comprises a first working oil hole, a second working oil hole, an oil inlet and an oil back hole; the rod cavity balance valves are arranged on rod cavity oil hole paths of the amplitude-variable cylinders and are closed when the amplitude-variable cylinders fall back and are opened when the amplitude-variable cylinders rise up; the check valve is arranged on an oil path between the first working oil hole of the reversing valve and the rod cavity balance valves and is conducted when a main arm is put down through power and is cut off when the main arm is put down through gravity; the oil replenishing device is arranged on an oil path between the oil back hole of the reversing valve and the rod cavity balance valves and is used for replenishing hydraulic oil into the rod cavities of the amplitude-variable cylinders when the main arm is put down through gravity.
